The UNESCO Open Science Recommendation was adopted by the UN member states in 2021.

Open Infra is an important part: science should use publicly/community-owned infrastructure and avoid proprietary software and platforms.

This means Open Science requires some switches, eg:

👉️ Qualtrics 🔁 LimeSurvey/formr

👉️ NVivo/Atlas/MaxQDA 🔁 QualCoder/ROCK

👉️ Mendeley/Endnote 🔁 Zotero

👉️ SPSS/SAS/STATA 🔁 jamovi/JASP/R

If you use proprietary qualitative analysis software, it would be great if you can help. To test and improve this new software ({qualchemy} 🔮), we need two things: 1️⃣ More exported projects (in REFI-QDA format) file so we can test imports; 2️⃣ Tests where a project exported by {qualchemy} is imported into proprietary software. In return, we will happily give you an intro re: the Reproducible Open Coding Kit (the ROCK 🤘) and help you open up your projects if you want. 🧵 2/3

The Reproducible Open Coding Kit (the ROCK 🤘) is a standard for open qualitative research, born in 2018, and with v1 in https://doi.org/qcf6 a tutorial in https://doi.org/jrfb and more basics at https://sciencer.eu/posts/2024-12-rock-basics.html With an NWO #OpenScience grant, Szilvia Zorgo and me are now working on a number of new resources for the ROCK, and one is the #RStats package {qualchemy} 🔮, which converts between REFI-QDA projects (whihc Atlas, NVivo, MaxQDA, Dedoose export to) and ROCK projects. 🧵 3/3

And yes, the t-shirt is a great idea, the first person I shared it with also immediately responded that they wanted a t-shirt with that 🙂 You could maybe consider licensing it under CC-BY, so that everybody's allowed to print it on whatever they want? That way it wouldn't cost you any time 🙂 (maybe a stupid idea for lots of reasons, but as we say in NL: You already have 'no', you might get 'yes' 🙂
