@kdkorte@fosstodon.org From my experience that is absolutely not true. I've installed Ubuntu and Xubuntu on many Windows machines and my 'clients' - mostly women - were completely satisfied. Changing the position of the bars (and some other minor tweaking) is easy, and fast, to do and to teach to Linux newcomers who are fed up with Windows.

@orbite Think of brownian motion so you don't get scared. On the other hand, if you really want to get a thrill analyze the Navier-Stokes equation. 😉

@wzqtparor@fedibird.com Not true.

@itsfoss@mastodon.social BTW I use... Manjaro. 😆

@Gargron@mastodon.social "I want to see pushback on this." Absolutely. "It doesn't matter if I can disable some AI feature in the settings." Disagree. The time is now, and people must defend... Until some alternative pops up. I'm using LibreWolf right now. I also use Pale Monn when it's convenient - and sometines it is. And yet I still have to use Firefox sometimes, so it's good that I can at least disble AI on it. Degoogling is a thing. Check e/os https://e.foundation

@splash730@mastodon.online Fruit bat, also called flying fox, I suppose.

@Gargron@mastodon.social Vivaldi is not a solution, is part of a bigger problem.

@fnord@chaos.social ... When I managed to reach the sand my skin was covered by large red spots, and there was this girl running towards me with a bottle of vinegar she squirted all over me. @warandpeas@mastodon.social

@fnord@chaos.social In my case it is not a matter of opinion. I was caught inside a swarm of jellyfish when swimming far from one of beaches in Ibiza. The first touch felt like I had been bitten and thought I had been attacked by a shark. Fortunately I'm a surfer and a very experienced swimmer, and I dove to try to face the menace. Near the surface there was a layer of jellyfish. I swam under water, but I couldn't avoid coming to the surface 2 or 3 times to breath. ... @warandpeas@mastodon.social

@kdkorte@fosstodon.org @wzqtparor@fedibird.com The tittle on bugzilla page is: [Wayland] Stability is worse compared to X11 session due to intolerance for display server or gnome-shell crashes In plain English it means that if you use Wayland - which Ubuntu does not by default - stability will be worse than with X11 and gnome-shell may crash. You may download Ubuntu with other graphical user interfaces. https://raspberrytips.com/best-desktop-environments-ubuntu/

@Gargron@mastodon.social And all starts with a joke. 😎

@Sheril@mastodon.social “There’s too many of us. It’s a planet of finite resources – and we’re using them up. And that’s going to mean so much suffering in the future.” -- Jane Goodall

@warandpeas@mastodon.social Vinegar has the same effect.

@jonyoder@mstdn.social @Gargron@mastodon.social I echo your words.

Would you mind explain it better, even if it is impolite?

@Orca@nya.one Okay.
