So many photos from yesterday's food crawl/photo walk in Binondo, touted as the world's oldest Chinatown. Need to find time to organize them and come up with a photo essay for my blog. In the meantime, let's start with these four street shots.
Completely forgot to post about this fantastic discovery: that JT's Manukan serves pinangat! It's a Bicolano dish made of fish (or shrimp) wrapped in taro leaves and cooked in coconut milk.
When I first tried this dish in Naga several years ago, I instantly fell in love with it. It's savory and creamy but not cloying. So I'm incredibly happy that JT's has this in their menu! 💃
A few weeks ago, @francisfuna@mastodon.social and I went back to this 10-seater ramen joint along Maginhawa because he was craving for a bowl. My first try wasn't really worth writing home about, but I was willing to give it another shot. So off we went.
We waited in line for more than 30 minutes (we normally don't), and I'm glad we did. This creamy bowl of crab ramen was worth the wait!

Somebody make an animated movie based on this!
Went back to Binondo last Saturday with Masuki's special asado siopao in mind. It's not the most photogenic food, but I swear, it's the best chunky asado siopao I've had, so far. 🤤
Came up with a new list of silent (and semi-silent) vlogs I love watching.
Anyone else into these kinds of vlogs? What channels do you subscribe to? I'd be happy to discover new ones.

Steaming some orange kamote for merienda. The house smells sweet!
It's sad to see some of the professional photographers (and visual artists) I know affix "This is not AI" to their caption when they would promote their works on socmed.
How did we come to this?!?
