Honestly what you describe is what I like in a phone, I probably shouldn't have cheaper out. My original Lenovo tablet was great, which is why when it got old I got the newer model but in the meantime they seem to have wrecked them...

@terrance_shaw@mastodon.world I haven't tried those yet - someone gave me a heated mattress pad once but you could feel all the wires in it. A blanket wouldn't be like that I imagine. I think you're right I probably need a factory reset, but I'm dreading it. This is an Android device from Lenovo. My first one was excellent! This one is so weird! It's slow, and if you open an app, then go to a second one, it closes the first one. It's really annoying and inefficient, especially If you're typing an email.

@terrance_shaw@mastodon.world I've been sciencing this and I've developed a new appreciation for good throws. That -34 the other night was completely unnecessary though. I want to try some kind of hooded blanket. I've got to do something to make this device more usable. It's reasonably new, crashes, puts in random parentheses when I'm typing even when symbols aren't open... It's driving me insane! 😫

The conversation I imagine the people who built the addition on our house had: 1 - This entryway needs a light, where should we put it? 2 - Up around 11 feet should do it. 1 - So it can't be reached without an extension ladder? 2 - Exactly! Put it in the center of the room too so it's inconvenient from sides. 1 - Makes sense. And which light fixture should we install? 2 - Use a big glass ball! Held on with tiny screws. Make changing the bulb a 2-handed job. 1 - Perfect 👍🏼 😒

@terrance_shaw@mastodon.world not yet, because another teacher only got paid the other day. It's a regular issue with the person that's currently in their finance department. The company insists on payment via wire transfer, which is pretty antiquated. I have friends working for an different type of company, which I'm thinking about. But this is my 2nd job - it's good because it's flexible, but starting to wonder if it's worth being so busy! Maybe I should quit & go back if I'm out of work in the future.

And bonus, didn't have to communicate with the annoying lady in the accounting department!! 🥳 I should cool it on the shopping but every time I leave something at the store I regret it! If I needed it that means a special trip, and maybe it's sold out. Things have gotten weird, because so much came from the US, such as parboiled rice, and the aloe vera I used to get. Feel like I need to grab what I can.

@lowqualityfacts@mstdn.social a family member had one before a blood test for some reason and the hospital thought he had serious issues when they got the results. Fortunately they retested, but it wasn't the first time this person has done something silly like that.
