@prahou@merveilles.town @rqm@exquisite.social Why are you just spreading misinformation? How can you claim “doesn’t do much that I don’t already do” when your 236‑line policy file is smaller than some of our patches? Can you fix broken canvas randomizing via policies? Can you guard WebGL/DRM behind a permission with policies? It is pretty insulting to claim we do the equivalent of a 236‑line policy file.

#LibreWolf v149.0-1 is now available!

https://codeberg.org/librewolf/bsys6/releases/tag/149.0-1

https://librewolf.net/installation/

Notable changes:
- LibreWolf now checks for and deletes manually installed language packs, because they interfere with the permissions panel. If you try to add a language pack, it will prevent the installation. LibreWolf already ships with all officially supported languages included.

See https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/149.0/releasenotes/ for upstream changes.

For that reason, it will be revoked, and our 150.0.1-1 releases have all been signed with a newly generated subkey. As only the subkey (0x43A83048DF19C075A55266A78A74EAAF89C17944) had been exposed (only it is available to the CI), our main key itself (0x662E3CDD6FE329002D0CA5BB40339DD82B12EF16) could not have been compromised by this. The new signing subkey's fingerprint is 0x230FE8E090E0ECBF2D925560915585A1C36690B1. 2/5

Furthermore, OSSign has changed their certificate name from Cloudyne Systems (Scheibling Consulting AB) to OSSign (Scheibling Consulting AB) since the previous release of LibreWolf and WinUpdater. This might cause a warning for users updating via our WinUpdater. See https://codeberg.org/librewolf/winupdater/issues/71 for more details.

See https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/150.0.1/releasenotes/ for upstream changes.

@sarahjamielewis@mastodon.social While it is understandable why TB/MB stable uses ESR via base browser, ESR is a meme. Considering Firefox is already behind in security compared to Chromium, using ESR, which does not receive all the security fixes that the regular release does, makes it worse.

It only being a subkey means that verification should just go as smoothly as usual with most installation methods. Unfortunately, if using AppImageUpdate to update the AppImage, it will show an error about the key having changed. This is to be expected, and a manual download of the AppImage must be done. 3/5 Edit: looks like I messed up making a proper thread, sorry! Here are 4/5 and 5/5: https://chaos.social/@librewolf/116495833307059758 https://chaos.social/@librewolf/116495834672105320

This first version was shipped with broken ffmpeg video playback. https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/librewolf/-/commit/6854fcc0f2e0174b3c322eca2d09a0570cad7176 should resolve this issue.

Replying to
@loadhigh basically it was caused by using "set -x" to debug issues with a CI process, and masking of secret CI variables seemingly not working with multiline values for those secrets.
