@quixoticgeek "There is no dark side of the moon really. As a matter of fact, it's all dark"
I've seen this around a couple of times already but today it struck me differently.
I grew up seeing all the usual photos like this hundreds of times, from all the NASA archives from the Apollo missions. So this picture at first didn't seem remarkable.
But then I realised, this isn't an old picture from "before my time". This is brand new, taken by a person who is in space right this very moment, yet last week was down here on Earth with the rest of us. That makes this picture more than just historic archive of something that happened before I was born. This is now, current. This is happening.
Here we go... #Subnautica2
I might post some initial thoughts later as I go, but I'll put them behind spoiler tags...
(to be sung)
There once was a ship that put to sea
And the name of the ship was the Billy of Tea
And that kind of ship so suited me
That now I am the ruler of the Queen's Navy

@sobaka I wish C99 had added very as a keyword, rather than the stupid long long trick. It would be so much more flexible.
very very long x;
very short y;
very static int z;
very const double PI = 3.14159...;
very volatile bool boom; /* NO SMOKING */

@dorian@retro.social I remain of the opinion that Win95/98 had the pinnacle of UI visual design. It's all been downhill since then.
Well saved by Bulgaria there

@adhd_coffee How about "There's sufficient processing delay between the listening and the speaking parts of my brain that sometimes I start talking before I realise you are also talking"

Also, it's hard to go shopping with people who don't play #subnautica, as they don't understand when you say things like "You be the Cyclops and I'll be the Seamoth".

@forty2@oldbytes.space But what could I do with four oscilloscopes that I can't already do with three?

Actually the guitar work really reminded me of The Edge. Ignoring the singing that could have been a U2 song

@stux Weasel! Is gravity just a suggestion to you, that you ignore if you don't want to obey it?

@montecook@dice.camp What I like about a post like this is that even though you didn't name anybody, we all know who it is you're talking about.

@luna@tech.lgbt The rate is clearly increasing. What's the acceleration in miles per hour per year? :)
