Finally added some dark shading to the clouds, but I don't want to talk about how I did it or I'll get locked up. Maybe for the game's next sequel I manage to do some proper smart volumetric thing. For this one I'll stick with this, it has its charm. #screenshotsaturday

I love walking and train rides and stuff. I think parking cars should be illegal, and car owners should be forced to continuously keep their automobiles in motion until they decide to sell them to junkyard.

Can anyone recommend a radio/podcast where people constantly yap about interesting things but it's not too focused on U.S.?
Awaiting CRT monitor and my first #retrogaming rig will be complete. A real beast for 1996, can run DOS games with sound as well as windows 95. If you enjoy reading numbers and letters: Pentium Cyrix 6x86L P166+, motherboard ecs ts54p, 48mb EDO ram in 4 slots, quantum fireball 2.1gb, S3 Virge svga 4mb, along with 3.5" FDD and Sony 40x CDRW. I always thought I'll start going retro with a zx spectrum or some obscure Yugoslavian 80s PC, but I'll start with most recent and work my way further back

Always read your OS's updates in time. I just read EndeavourOS's April fools update out of context and it was a proper "wtf I thought they're the good guys" moment

@glassbottommeg@mastodon.gamedev.place For what's it worth, recently a friend recommended Underworld 1 to be a much better experience in atmosphere, dialogues, puzzles etc, while 2 is just bigger. Though he played them back in the days of DOS so take with a grain of salt. I am planning to give #1 a shot soon.

It is so intriguing I actually paused a Stephen King book for this. I learned to be wary of anyone claiming they know what they're talking about in software design, but this is on a pretty good start.
Well, the #adhd is finally diagnosed and I'm now trying Concerta, currently the only legal drug in my country.
Only a year ago getting diagnosed as an adult was somewhat like trying to pass evaluations for an astronaut, but I guess greed has finally won over conservatism and now it took me two visits to a private clinic to get prescription.

A way to draw realistic sprites, if you don't mind that step one for each frame is to draw large format with perfect outlines. Nice shading technique using layers.
