I’m extremely happy to share that I finally have a Unicorn. The Sony TPS-L2 has been on my list for years. And yes before Guardians of the Galaxy. This was a gift from a friend who was able to get one for a 10th of what they go for on eBay and extremely thoughtful. You know who you are and thank you so very much!
No idea if it works. I plan on buying a belt and a pinch roller for it. It does have come corrosion in the battery tray but I don’t think it got to the PCB.
Honestly even if it doesn’t work I don’t care. This is going in a glass case. When I got it I felt like I should have been wearing white gloves haha.

Yeah it feels like such a loss. Cassette futurism is far and away my favorite aesthetic. It seemed inevitable back in the day, and one could argue the fidelity you get out of a modern high res audio player and even a basic 1080p modern TV is miles better than anything we had back then, and I’m glad for that. But man there is just something so special, that we lost when it comes to physical media and the devices we used to play them.
What’s this? A post? I’ve been so busy with moving to Colorado from California I’ve just not had much time for projects and that’s what I like to post about the most. Well today the movers arrived and oh I have so many boxes to unpack and move and man. Just too much.
But I also got an 8th scale buggy kit that I’m really excited to build. This is the kit and some of the parts needed to build it. It’s a Tekno EB48 2.2. #rccar #rccars
During packing a couple days ago I found these in a bathroom scale. These have obviously been in there a long while. Glad they didn’t leak or anything. Scale still works fine but took them out anyway to be safe.
For those that may not know Frys Electronics went out of business back in late 2019 or early 2020. I probably got these batteries in 2017 or 2018.
Finally able to spend a little time on building this Tekno EB48 2.2 8th scale buggy. Building the front center and rear differential then those go into the front and rear bulkhead. Those then get built into the front and rear assembly.
This has been a really interesting build and thankfully the instructions are really good. Definitely the most complicated RC vehicle I've ever built.

@gray@bark.lgbt Awww hope you get it soon. All I've done with mine is use it like a normal controller, but I do like the haptics in the one racing game I've used it on and the gimbals are just butter. I have bigger hands and the ergonomics is great.
