I am *extremely* ready for daylight savings time (which in the UK starts tomorrow). TBH I was ready for it a week ago.
(Before any smartarse asks “Why do you care about clock time?”, the answer is that I have to interact with the world around me, and I would like there to be more than two hours between starting to eat dinner and going to bed.)
If any other UK people had been wondering how to download and print a poster to encourage others to vote Green in tomorrow’s local elections (or indeed at any other point), I finally managed to locate the right page on their website: https://greenparty.org.uk/get-involved/posters/
I got confused about whether I’d planned to make savoury rice or vermicelli rice for dinner, and ended up making savoury vermicelli rice. It turned out fine!
The usual recipes are:
- Savoury rice: half jasmine, half basmati, add veg stock, parsley, dill, and a pinch of turmeric for colour, cook in rice cooker.
- Vermicelli rice: all basmati, add a handful of short vermicelli that’s been pre-fried in olive oil, cook in rice cooker.
The rest of dinner was beetroot yogurt made to a simplified version of Paula Wolfert’s recipe ( http://www.paula-wolfert.com/recipes/shred_beets.html ) using lactose-free yogurt, and mackerel in olive oil from a jar. V tasty.
