Hi! I like open source software.

Currently learning Rust, and have too many projects on the go.

My interests at the moment are:
- Rust
- ESP32
- ESP Home
- Fiddling around with my FT232H
- Photography

To do:
- Pull firmware off an embedded device
- See what I can find

@rysiek@mstdn.social don’t worry, they are adding an “AI” chat button that you can ask for an RSS feed and get bonus hallucinated content for free.

@dangillmor@mastodon.social more and more sites only work or work far faster in chromium. And instead of campaigning for free and open web standards and improving gecko they instead are seemingly only interested in adding AI. The majority of their users continue to tell them we don’t want AI, and will leave for a fork. They ignore us, and invest more resources into AI. I can’t even get friends to switch to Firefox anymore, as chromium is faster and better supported. They don’t share my beliefs for a free web that isn’t completely Google chromium, they just want something that works. It feels as if the battle is lost.

@deborahh @oots If someone is close enough to be in Bluetooth range and knows your account details to trigger a phone call for 2FA, they could use a hammer to get you to cough up your AWS password too. It’s an interesting PoC, but unlikely to be the way you are compromised imo. It’s more concerning for MITM attacks where they sit in between eavesdropped silently.

@mr_harm @kde it’s opinionated and breaks the nix rule of do your one thing well. It does many things and keeps growing. It’s rather ridiculous that a certain init manager is required for the new login manager, that is one reason why people don’t like systemd.

@flamepanther@retrogaming.social my guess would be an options play and a boast post on wallstreetbets. How I used genai to make a million and trick dumb reporters.

@fasterandworse the guy seems an odd pick, been at Mozilla for 12 months, takes over and talks about AI, stopping ad blockers and charging for subscription services. The majority of the user base would leave, are they trying to pump it up to sell or something?

@fstateaudio feels like the Streisand effort. Only real outcome is more people hear about Anna’s.
