@0xabad1dea wait a second, I typed that whole paragraph about me being on iOS 17 and instead moving my data and app usage to my GrapheneOS Pixel to not worry about bad features being bundled with security updates... Then I had a thought: "if they just released iOS 18.7.7, doesn't this mean iOS 18 is now signed again and maybe available via OTA?" Yes, it does, I will be updating now once I free some space (I only have 2GB free, curse 128GB phones) 😂

@amyisard sometimes I wonder if it's possible to have a community crowdsourced open source Citymapper with public transport APIs hooked up, maybe built on CoMaps/OSM? I love Citymapper and it's actually quite scarily accurate (if it says I'm late, I'm very much most likely late), but I always hesitate using maps apps in general due to privacy, but the problem is I'm a shut-in (by design of a tech nerd) and have been growing up so I never know how to go anywhere ever and have to resort to it anyway because CoMaps doesn't really do public transport in SG. @alper @arianvp @noodlemaz

@alper  @monoxane https://datamall.lta.gov.sg/content/datamall/en/dynamic-data.html We do in SG :) Pretty sure that's what Citymapper uses anyway, either this or some other API (never dug around enough to check yet), but point is they are available here. @amyisard @arianvp @noodlemaz

@xgranade having tried (and still doing) the multiple devices thing recently as a person who grew up with smartphones, I find using separate things a chore and the only things I would keep separate are ones I find a very good reason to, and my phone screen time doesn't reduce most of the time either e.g. mobile games are ass so imma play handheld consoles... but then that involves bringing said console Listening to music on an iPod instead of my phone because I have a modded iFlash iPod with a "3000" (1800) mAh battery so it lasts forever... but while listening with IEMs I'm still on my phone the whole time anyway, plus if I wanna watch a video i need to switch the IEMs to my phone anyway

@rmondello@hachyderm.io why does using hardware keys on Android rely on Google primarily instead of being a built in OS feature?

@rebane2001@infosec.exchange at this point I tune that out subconsciously, so when I stream my desktop with audio, my friends keep freaking out wondering why they are hearing ghost pings and seeing no messages on their Discord lol
