CSS Grid is powerful, but it has a hidden focus order trap. When visual order doesn't match DOM order, tab focus follows the DOM, not what's on screen, which is exactly the scenario that fails WCAG 2.4.3. Screen readers mostly don't read the rendered screen. They read the accessibility tree through platform APIs and feed a speech queue.
