@sschoener@mastodon.gamedev.place VScode/VSCodium has a pretty decent one built in. If you want something simpler/standalone, I’ve personally used Meld for a long time (I think it’s part of the Gnome tools but it’s cross platform). Nowadays I just use delta (TUI) for small/simple diffs and VSCodium for everything else.

I used to make fun of my dad for always using a Windows 95 theme on more modern Windows versions and even some Linux distros. But here I am, in the year of our Lord 2024, still thinking Xubuntu’s Greybird is one of (if not the) best desktop themes ever 👨🏼‍🦳 (Screenshot from @omgubuntu@floss.social )

@benmo@sunny.garden well, personally, as a graphics dev, I never have enough budget on a frame 😅 But games always have and always will push hardware to its limits. My biased opinion is that what we should be pushing for is greater efficiency in consumer software. As a recent personal example, having a video call on Zoom stresses my 2020 i5 laptop so much it throttles. We've had video calls for decades now, and that i5 is a beast compared to the CPUs of the 2000s. It should handle them like it's nothing.

@benmo@sunny.garden I want to agree and I feel the same way. BUT. I keep remembering the infamous quote about the 640K of RAM. Maybe I’m just getting old and grumpy.
