@caseyliss the comparison to the H2 was quite Apt - at the time, I was out with my dad in the desert canyons and washes adventuring in a 1990 Nissan Pathfinder, and the new H2 was a joke cosplay car driven to the mall to make sure you could see them preening.

I had no idea that a) there were millions of recalled fire sprinkler heads out there and b) replacing them is kinda optional for landlords. [And c) there is a “fire alarm dude” out there].

@aleen@wandering.shop Most rural “road stations” have a “Grandma’s craft corner” where the local grandmas sell their unique knitting and sewing projects. Occasionally it is Grandpa’s Woodshop corner, where carved or cut knickknacks are sold, next to the commercially packaged pickled vegetables, and mascot keychains.
Two of the bench cushions were cheap for the effort (1500y 10$), but the 3-dimensional double-thick pink one was double the price (3500y 22$) !

It’s like the modern, social media eqivilent of men sticking their fingers in their ears and refusing to buy tampons at the store in a TV sitcom because they don’t want to be seen in “that isle” or “the embarrassment”of presenting them to the clerk - better just to hide & avoid everything to avoid having that social interaction🙄😮💨
Once you grow up & have people in your life who use them, the whole mentality suddenly seems outlandishly childish to me.
