The Future Is Intersectional
On 30 July 2001, The Strokes released their debut album, 'Is This It'.
Rather than looking to the future, they turned to the crunchy rock of The Velvet Underground, The Ramones, and Sonic Youth, spearheading a newly founded wave of young bands refusing to be labelled irrelevant amidst the dominance of hip hop and electronica releases at the start of the new millennium.

On 6 March 2006, Mogwai released their fifth album, Mr Beast.
Though restrained for some in regards to their former years, the Scottish quintet's distillation undoubtedly enriched their musical canvas and drew in new listeners to a genre often set on excess.

The avant-garde artist, an enigmatic and tragic figure whose talent transcended genres not yet invented, passed away three years later.
