okay in fairness, if it did grow the disk it would be unbootable upon reboot, because:
- the pi firmware requires that the FAT firmware partition is on an MBR
- the cloud image scripts spit out a GPT
- thus we have some hybrid MBR+GPT fuckery going on
- cloud-guest-utils' growpart obliterates any hybrid MBRs so i had to add it back by hand
