@trashwizard@mastodon.social @dalias@hachyderm.io lots of cloud services have turnkey mastodon hosting, in which all you need to do is supply a domain name. i imagine that pretty severely lowers the technical know-how required to start an instance up.
in either case, the solution is pretty obvious that there should be some default, recommended FASP for blocklist synchronization with default values that pull from some reputation listing (like email with spamhaus et al.). but as far as i know, managed mastodon hosts generally don't supply one, nor does mastodon's install docs (or even mention FASPs' existence, last time i checked)

@zoey yeah there's nothing inherently bad about light themes, it's just i've been a dark-theme darrel for a long time; one of my first few phones had an amoled display so i became used to pure black themes, then i wanted the same vibe both on my little and large rectangles and just never changed afterwards
