Forgot to post this here! I've been learning watercolor and thought it was time to try a full piece instead of just an exercise. I am extremely proud of this guy.
For a while Mastodon and Bluesky were neck and neck for boosts and likes for my new commission piece, but mastodon has now pulled clearly away. Good job team!
I am all for the slogan that "billionaires shouldn't exist" but it bothers me in a nerdy way that we've pegged an abstract idea to a specific number. What is it about "one billion" that is wrong but "600 million" is fine? How could we define obscene wealth in a way that works across currencies and regardless of inflation? Is it about the ratio of maximum wealth to the poverty level? Is it about the inequality of justice? How does a society pick a number that feels fair?
(I am not arguing about the slogan, this is a thought experiment about the mechanism)
We're in a hotel and Sundance TV is playing law and order at 1.1x or so. We weren't sure if it was sped up but I have All of L&O on Plex and I could sync it up. The TV got ahead of the original version very quickly. Gross!
