Hello, dear Husky users. For almost a year, you haven't seen any updates on Husky. I owe you an apology for that. In August 2025, I left my job as an Android developer because I was burnt out. I didn't do any programming for three months just to recover, and after finding a new job, I wasn't ready to get back to working on Android apps. Recently, I settled into my new home, and my setup is almost ready for me to resume work on Husky. Eventually, new releases will come out, with fixes and new features. If it's a normal bug, open a normal bug report.

I asked a couple of friends to test this release with the new APK, and a couple of users also tested it, with the result of not crashing anymore.

Please, download again the APK from the tag (and delete old downloaded APKs just in case), and you should be able to test the beta without any issue.

Yet another bug that may be fixed.

You don't see in this video, but a change is made into the selector that, if you have enabled "Animate custom emojis" setting in the application, custom emojis will be animated.

@Pizzasquidwithatophat@mastodon.social @captainepoch@stereophonic.space @scuti@stereophonic.space We still have many, many doubts about how to make a workaround. It's still unknown how Google will enforce this. We'll see. We still have a year and a half.

@scuti@stereophonic.space @captainepoch@stereophonic.space For the moment, we don't have many details as we will need to put our ID into Google's system to create and verify a Play Store account that will have the APK whitelisted, somehow. As far as we know, not having any Play Services at all seems the only way to avoid this system.

I did some research about the crash in the latest beta and couldn'y find anything. I'll keep looking for the bug later or tomorrow.
