Safety Engineer, Dad, Husband, Musician, Pilot. Not necessarily in that order.

I toot and boost whatever tickles my fancy, mostly about flying and aviation and music.

I have another account on a personal instance, @hopfigkeit@nb-fedi.de, where I toot about IT and other technology, but somewhat less frequently.

I also post pictures on Pixelfed as @Hopfgeist and Videos on PeerTube as @hopfgeist.

Was hatten Komponisten eigentlich immer gegen Tenöre?

@AlienJay@burningboard.net Nachzahlung?

@frank@troet.cafe Ah, so nice. Wangerooge is really convenient, with the airfield next to the town, compared to, say Norderney, where you are 3 km away. Should do that again some time. It's just 50 minutes from here.

@kde Isn't this now at least the second petition for this on a third-party platform that collects your data for an uncertain outcome? Why not use the official Bundestag e-Petition system? That way: No intermediary is involved that collects your data and, when making it an official Bundestag petition, parliament has to discuss it when it has collected a certain number of signatures. https://epetitionen.bundestag.de/epet/peteinreichen.nc.html Also, why is it in English? While there are some German citizens that don't speak German, there may be a lot more that don't speak English.

I literally spilled the beans.

The jar with the espresso beans scattered its contents on the floor.

Now I have ground coffee.

@tante@tldr.nettime.org People on a recent conference on system safety presented their work on creating assurance cases for safety-critical systems using AI. The research paper shows multi-page prompts with section titles and various pleas to the AI. Absolutely ridiculous. The upshot of this (and one other) talk was "We tried it. it doesn't work. We love it."🤦‍♂️
