Profile picture is Moo Deng, a pygmy hippo, projecting anger with her mouth open wide, photoshopped into Edvard Munch's "The Scream."
Background picture is a vandalized mural in Austin, TX that used to say "You're My Butter Half" and now reads "You're My Butt Hole."
Where I currently live, the weather is the most unpredictable of any of the seven US states I've lived in. There will be a sunny day forecast, mild wind, and then a thunderstorm rolls in. After the thunderstorm, the forecast changes to say RAIN OMG AND 20MPH GUSTS. TORNADO WATCH 🌪️. It's like, are the meteorologists using a Magic 8-ball?
My friends tell me I'm naïve when I tell them I don't think my students are using AI. But I do check. They get screened by multiple apps, both in Blackboard and outside it.
What I hear from my students about AI is resentment and anxiety. They resent AI being part of their education. They are anxious because they believe it has prepared them poorly. Being a sycophant rather than an educator. They are also angry that AI preys on people with mental illness, and the outcomes of that.
I know there are a whole lot of doomers out there who think the current generation is a flock of mindless, AI-driven zombies. Let me tell you, they aren't.
They are a group of people who have been failed on several levels. Smart, capable, but lost on how to get a foothold in the current stupid system. Please help them.
...y'all. If I was writing a book, and she was a character, and I gave her these initials, you'd tell me I was a hack.
