It makes me sad that AI makes us used to the fact that building software now costs money. Or even worse, gets us dependent on it while our employer pays the bill. I see this happening to myself, right now, yeah ....
Yes people who can't or don't want spend money (like young me) can still build software the old way but it's not the same if the whole industry and ecosystem moves on.

@janmon@social.lol yes, I hear you, there is definitely a loss. I hope you can retain the space for your team to be a safe and welcoming place for everyone to ask their questions. Insecurity is something I see a lot in all developers around me right now.

@janmon@social.lol you can ask AI how something works, but in most cases not why it was build a certain way. Even if you ask the team how sth works you'll get a better answer if the people who built it are there.
Also, why not both
