#ScribesAndMakers SE 21: What character from one of your own books or someone else's would you want to spend a day with? What would you do? I've mentioned before that Sara and I would get along well. We could go foraging, and talk, and be comfortable being quiet. From someone else's work... right now @PentUp@kinkycats.org 's Fairy comes to mind. I'm sure Fairy could tell me many interesting things.

They could guess correctly that:

• I'm older than 40

• I'm very queer

• I reject the idea that femininity is weakness

• authoritarianism disgusts me

• my religious views are not Abrahamic and cannot be understood using assumptions coming from those religions

• I believe people who care about each other can solve big problems

• I believe that love that isn't romantic/sexual can have as much of an emotional impact and be as important

#WritersCoffeeClub SE 24: Do you write primarily for yourself or for a reader? If it was for myself only, I could just imagine and wouldn't need to bother recording it all. Sure, typewriters are kind of fun, and computers used to be. I think my writing is a complicated way to try to fight loneliness, maybe more effective for readers than for myself.

#WordWeavers SE 23: Have your characters' journeys affected your own life? If so, how? I've noticed a few times that my current self at the time had adopted some personality traits from a character from a few years before. I think their journeys help me imagine positive things to do and be.

#WordWeavers SE 20: How do your characters access water or whatever they need to drink? Those who live in the city have tap water. Sara's home is located at a hot spring, that water does not taste good. She has experimented with letting it distill itself, collects rain, and brings water from elsewhere.

#PennedPossibilities 1137: Do you have an FMC, MMC, other gender MC, or more than one MC? Yes to all, though there's no MMC in anything I'm currently writing unless you consider Simón a man with very strong opinions about the patriarchy. I expect people who have assigned themselves to some very different boxes could all feel he's just like them.

Cherie and Valerie: t-shirt with something silly printed on it, black jeans, black leather jacket, lavender bandana, black steel-toe boots. Other characters adopt parts of this style. OR Sometimes a dress at home or on a date. Sara: a mix of hiking clothes in greyish colors, camo, sometimes climbing gear, OR a long dress with matching gloves, OR see Cherie and Valerie but blouse instead of t-shirt Charlotte: typical lawyer suit, OR blouse and comfy pants, trench coat OR see Sara, see C&V Simón and Raquel: blouse/shirt and jeans, sometimes a dress, and see C&V Doc and Rosa: business suit or casual. (e.g. created a spinoff or a sequel that wasn’t originally planned.) My world building tends to lead to prequels. I've been thinking my poll story (see quoted post) could be a first draft for a game. Exploring all the paths not taken could be interesting. I also wouldn't have to keep that version SFW 🤭

#PennedPossibilities 1133: Did your MC attend school? What sort of education did they have? The unusual ones are Doc and Raquel. Doc was slowed down a bit by the whole world falling apart around her. She still managed to become a Doctor of Medicine. Raquel used to go to school until her parents decided it wasn't safe early in #TheLadyWithTheGoldenSword . She is home schooled by her sibling Simón and his girlfriend Sara after that, and taught by anyone who knows about subjects that interest her. In #LivingForJessie Rosa lets her use a computer in her apartment (there's no electricity at Sara's place). That's where she first meets Doc, who has many interesting books.

I have half a story idea, who wants to play Choose Your Collective Adventure? --- You should have read the ad properly before tapping the "apply" button. You have never been in space before, of course not, you're archeology student. Internships are supposed to be on Earth, not on outpost 582, a space station that doesn't even have a name yet. Whoever these people are, they offer to actually pay you, and they're paying for your travel expenses too. You need the money, so you decided to go get interviewed. Now you're spacesick, you're wormholesick, and your shuttle arrived an hour early somehow.
