@RickiTarr@beige.party I know, The Bible, who can take that shit seriously. I mean, no one wrote it down for how long? And it was translated how many times? And people still think it is historically accurate!?

Slipping a little semi-vintage bitterleaf green tea, (Meng Ding Ganlu 2023,) into the rotation.

Mao Jian No. 2 from White2Tea's spring green tea drop is always one of my favorites. The 2023 release was no exception.

I usually try to get through green teas within a couple years, but a few 2023 White2Tea green teas are still left, including this mao feng. Perhaps less impactful than it would have been when it was fresher, it is still very enjoyable.

Emerald Buds (2023) from White2Tea is an early spring bud only Chinese green tea from Guizhou. A pan fired green tea, it is generally in the vicinity of Longjing/Dragonwell green tea, light, slightly nutty.

Your friendly reminder that the early dry weather means earlier than usual Foxtail hazards for your pets. Time to be vigilant.

Final experiment in cross cultural blending: 5g White2Tea Tale Chaser (roasted ripe puerh) and 2g Yunomi Naturalitea Superior Hojicha. Weird, I like the blends that are unevenly divided between the teas more than evenly divided blend.

Another Oolong sample from Mud and Leaves, this one a Taiwanese 2019 "Alishan Jin Xuan Golden Lily". A "Milk Oolong", it is very light, subtle oolong with no roast and medium (25%) Oxidation. Tasty, but I probably should have drunk it sooner...

If there's any consolation, it's that all of the Trumps, on any scale, are horrible at managing their money. Even with the billions that they will have have sucked from the American economy by the end of his presidency, they'll probably still be back in bankruptcy court in less than a decade.

@gerrymcgovern@mastodon.green The attitude of move fast and break things, aka it's easier to ask for forgiveness (pay a relatively tiny fine) than permission (be tied up for years in environmental reviews, planning commissions, etc.) is rampant in tech and has now moved from software development to infrastructure.

US Citizens who owe more than $2,500 in Child Support will have their US passports revoked!? And they are hoping to require a passport or birth certificate to vote? Hmmm...

Same deal, but out of curiosity increased it to a 50-50 blend of White2Tea Tale Chaser (charcoal roasted ripe puerh) and Hojicha (Yunomi NaturaliTea Superior). The nice part is I like the longer steeps more than when just brewing the Hojicha.

"The FCC just banned the sale of new consumer-grade Wi-Fi routers manufactured outside the US. Here’s what it means for you." The only company currently making routers in the US is Musk's StarLink.

I like Yasujiro Ozu's movies, but they have a tendency to hypnotize me into relaxation. Inevitably I miss about a third of the movie and have to rewatch. But rewatching you see things you missed, so maybe not a bad thing?

@mwl@io.mwl.io I see quite a few Cybertrucks in the parking lot of our state research university. Since we have quite a few Nobel laureates on staff, I believe this demonstrates that you can be very smart and very stupid at the same time. (And more Tesla sedans than I can count.)

@tojiro (PGE always tells us our household energy use is above average for the size of our house, but I don't see how that is possible. Maybe they are comparing just based on sq feet, and including newer condos/apartments?)

Uh, what? So many unwanted plants are now Round-Up (Glysophate) resistant that DOW and Monsanto have developed GMO lines that are Agent Orange (2,4-D) resistant. And the USDA/EPA have approved their use. https://www.epa.gov/ingredients-used-pesticide-products/registration-enlist-one-and-enlist-duo
