@nixCraft@mastodon.social PCMCIA: never forget 🫡

@gedeonm@mastodon.social This is me except tubes of tomato paste.

@not3ottersinacoat@mastodon.social Instead of a single 16 GB stick of RAM, you’ll want to go with a pair of 8 GB sticks. That will allow the ram to run at double data rate (hence the “DDR”), effectively doubling its speed. As for the rest of the build, I’m afraid I don’t know! I haven’t looked at hardware since I built my last system in 2022-ish, so I don’t know what is considered good anymore.

@mr_creosote@dosgame.club @Tijn@dosgame.club It’s because they can’t track user behaviour and location to sell to data brokers from a fob! We are in the worst possible timeline.

@not3ottersinacoat@mastodon.social I do something similar, now that the novelty of having every single game ever has worn off. No more than 10 roms per system now, and it’s made a huge difference in me actually playing games instead of giving up immediately and moving on to something different.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social If I never type the words “make menuconfig” again, I will die happy 🤣

@Tijn@dosgame.club This is awesome! I had no idea.
