I haven’t seen #Belgium get away with one like that since the July Monarchy ensured France’s crucial support for Belgian independence in defiance of the other European great powers, who after being called on their bluff declined to send troops to the United Kingdom of the Netherlands to support the previous union #usmnt #WorldCup #CopaMundial #CoupeDuMonde #soccer #football #futbol #fifa #FIFAWorldCup #America #sports #Mexico #canada #MastodonFC

I haven’t seen Switzerland have such an easy time against a francophone country since L’Acte De Médiation formally abolished Napoleon Bonaparte’s already-collapsing Helvetic Republic and replaced it with a new confederation that re-established the old canton system. #usmnt #WorldCup #CopaMundial #CoupeDuMonde #soccer #football #futbol #fifa #FIFAWorldCup #America #sports #Mexico #canada #MastodonFC

I haven’t seen #England get into this much trouble in Georgia since Andrew Pickens led the Patriot forces in a successful siege of Augusta against a Loyalist militia on 22 May 1781. #usmnt #WorldCup #CopaMundial #CoupeDuMonde #soccer #football #futbol #fifa #FIFAWorldCup #America #sports #Mexico #canada #MastodonFC

@grumpasaurus@infosec.exchange I think they filled the McCook one up in July 2023. It’s going to get expanded within a few years. But the real issue for property owners isn’t the capacity so much as the pipes going toward all that storage, which are old, crumbling, and small…I think the metaphor I heard was that it’s like trying to fill up a bathtub with a straw

I haven’t seen #Spain run in behind an Austrian defense like that since the combined Franco-Spanish armies under the command of James FitzJames, 1st Duke of Berwick, split up an Allied army loyal to Archduke Charles of #Austria and attacked it from three sides at the Battle of Almansa on 25 April 1707. #usmnt #WorldCup #CopaMundial #CoupeDuMonde #soccer #football #futbol #fifa #FIFAWorldCup #America #sports #Mexico #canada #MastodonFC

I haven’t seen Americans this excited at a red card reversal since Target issued a nationwide recall of its Up & Up baby wipes in early 2026. #usmnt #WorldCup #CopaMundial #CoupeDuMonde #soccer #football #futbol #fifa #FIFAWorldCup #America #sports #Mexico #canada #MastodonFC

I haven’t seen #France steal the spotlight from America like that since lieutenant général des armées navales François Joseph Paul de Grasse, Comte de Grasse, Marquis of Grasse-Tilly, led his fleet to victory in the Battle of the Chesapeake, ensuring that the British army of Charles Cornwallis at Yorktown couldn’t be reinforced. #usmnt #WorldCup #CopaMundial #CoupeDuMonde #soccer #football #futbol #fifa #FIFAWorldCup #America #sports #Mexico #canada #MastodonFC

I haven’t seen #England get two back that quick since it briefly reinstated control over Singapore and Hong Kong after Japan’s surrender, ending almost four years of a brief imperial interregnum #usmnt #WorldCup #CopaMundial #CoupeDuMonde #soccer #football #futbol #fifa #FIFAWorldCup #America #sports #Mexico #canada #MastodonFC

People don’t realize how much Taiwan has pivoted away from the PRC and toward the USA economically. Its exports to the USA outvalue those of both the PRC and Vietnam.

@grumpasaurus@infosec.exchange Yeah I feel like it’s sometimes hard to defend because despite so much solar being installed, emissions have only ever gone down due to major exogenous events like COVID-19 and the Iran War. Blocking the Strait of Hormuz made a bigger dent than all renewable energy combined.
