@randomvangloboii@dragonchat.org I wouldn't self-identify as dragonkin, otherkin, or therian personally however the choice of dragon as a fursona was meaningful. They look cool, they are mythological, they're magical... These are all things that I can relate to in some way. I also suffered from intense loneliness as a kid.
Most importantly to me, my dreams have used dragons as symbols. I think you don't have to "be" a dragon (or a wolf, a rat, etc) for the psyche to use these symbols to layer additional meaning into our perception. If people want to say that's therian behaviour then I won't argue it :)
