My second #ListeningClub submission recorded at my father's 700west.com studio (my childhood living room). "Circle City Fatback" by Ultimate Force

You've been listening to Mike Scott (The Waterboys) 2019 album "Where The Action Is"
https://thewaterboys.bandcamp.com/album/where-the-action-is

You probably know the voice from the 80s hit "The Whole Of The Moon"

In researching him, I became introduced to the Japanese term Manko, as he'smarried to Megumi Igarashi.

He's currently on tour in Americana mode with Steve Earle.

This is Pat Fish/Jazz Butcher name dropping: Public Enemy, Guns N Roses, Downey Mildew, Alex Chilton, Nikki Sudden. #ListeningClub

The production details on this are just sublime. #ListeningClub

The best Monkees song! #ListeningClub

Global Debut this Joe Fruit's track recorded at my father's studio (and featuring his wild-ass backup vocals and homemade keyboards) #ListeningClub

@vinomadic Unlike last week, I actually have something in mind, so sure! #ListeningClub

@martinus@mastodon.art @pluralistic@mamot.fr "Gretacene" - excellent

@soundclamp@mastodon.xyz Potentially if I ever complete the digitization of the master tapes!

Ah, the song I bought this album for back in the 80s. #ListeningClub

@saucer Quite so. And KCRW's legendary Deirdre O'Donaghue. #ListeningClub.

1964 #Corvair #AutoRestoration progress.

I've been helping the neighbor some with his 1984 #Porsche 944, and that has got me back in the mood to work on my own project.

Over the weekend, I blew off 10 months of accumulated dust from the fresh paint job, gently washed with new micro fibre cloths, and then promptly covered it with an indoor cover.

A couple of days ago, I dropped the suspension so that I could access the underside.

I need to address the lack of adequate underbody seam sealer situation, which is one gripe I've got with the place that did the bodywork. I mean, come on!

Once the underside is properly sealed, then I can start putting things back in.

And one of those things is a steering column upgraded with a slightly less-worn worm nut than the one that came in the car.

Watched the 2023 Aadam Jacobs documentary which just precedes the current effort by @ajcproject@mas.to to actually digitize and share his massive #Chicago #LiveMusic #archive.

Just helped the neighbor get his newly acquired Porsche 944 running and took it for a drive with no wallets and tags expired from 2002. #BeUngovernable #ClassicCar

Watching Silence of the Lambs at 10am really messes up the rest of the day.

Google Drive download #protip for downloading large files from folders which have reached their download limit...

Simply select the large file and a smaller file and *then* click download.

Stupid Google Drive will dutifully zip the two files together and you CAN download *that*.

Trillion $$ company. SMDH

I keep confusing Capybaras with Chupacabras

What a funny world.

I just learned that Mike Scott (Waterboys) is married to Japanese "Manko" artist Megumi Igarashi (Rokudenashiko)

Finally watched "My Left Foot"

How was this an Oscar winner? It is at best a Hallmark/After School Special #movie - with Nancy Drew mystery music and a cheesy freeze-frame final image of smiling faces.
