#movies || coming back on here just to say that kpop demon hunters has had me in a chokehold… the animation, the music, the way it’s a love letter but also subtle critique of the kpop industry… even with almost no marketing it’s shattering records.

as a k-pop fan who loves adventure and fantasy i was absolutely the target audience… and i have zero regrets and way too many thoughts about the movie and its messages and characters. also, huntr/x and the saja boys have been on loop in my playlist for the past week

also i was very pleasantly surprised to see some activity on the tag here on mastodon! the one thing i haven’t been able to find on mastodon is the fandom culture present on other centralized social media apps (in general, not just for K-pop)

any #beancount or #fava users here? i’ve been wrestling with a fava-envelope bug for days and unfortunately, i think i’ve hit the upper ceiling of my limited python ability 😭 this is the issue i’ve filed on the repo if anyone’s able to help: https://github.com/polarmutex/fava-envelope/issues/107 i’d be eternally grateful

the initial installation simply fails, what i’ve had success doing is building from source in a virtual environment (homebred-installed python). the plugin registers but doesn’t render any information

worth a listen through in order; best with an external speaker or headphones. (personally, i used KZ Pro 2 IEMs through an adapter on my phone) if you like haunting lyricism and vivid imagery, this album’s for you.
