In België wel.

@dos@social.librem.one @janvlug@mastodon.social Thank you both for the answers. I'd love to see Purism get better and more widely available, but I'm not prepared to be an adopter yet. I used to think my requirements were quite minimal, but when using the Librem I've realized all the functionality that I've been taking for granted on /e/OS.

@Kletskous Als de risico's voor burgers zo groot zijn, kunnen ze wellicht zonder consequenties weigeren om DigiD te gebruiken. Alle instanties die authenticatie alleen via DigiD aanbieden hebben dan een probleem.

@janvlug@mastodon.social How is the PWA support? Can you install PWAs? How's the battery? Is receiving phone calls and SMS reliable? How often do you need to reboot it? I've a Librem 5 in the drawer and don't feel like taking it out ever again. It's too hot all the time: 34 °C.

Nu #digid onder Amerikaanse voogdij komt, zullen meer mensen een aangifte op papier willen doen.

@janvlug@mastodon.social I've now revived (taking a whole afternoon!) to revive my Librem 5. It is still atrocious. The developers have no respect for the time of their users. Everything is slow even when it does not need to be. A typical example: opening a category in the PureOS store takes 42 seconds! And it takes that long even for empty (and cryptic) categories like 'Codecs' and 'Fonts'. This was the same when I put this device in a drawer.
The device is constantly 39°C at an ambient temperature of 18°C.

@hmblank@mastodon.social en het moet altijd mogelijk zijn om andere software op een apparaat te zetten. Liefst wordt het verboden om hardware en software samen te verkopen. De klant kiest dan of en welke software zij bij het apparaat koopt.

I'm a paying customer. I expect a decent product. That's the attitude of 99% of the people. FOSS systems do not get a pass because they're claim to give freedom. Bad products just cost lot of time.
Now I think, this freedom is important, but the hobbyist level of work on it will not cut it. Many more millions and a business mindset that wants to make a good product is needed.

@dos@social.librem.one @janvlug@mastodon.social Flashing according to those docs does not work at all. The librem5-flash-image does not wait until the battery is inserted and proceeds to print 'Failure 1' and still continues to run SDPV: jump and SDP: boot -f u-boot-librem5.imx 3 times. This is on an up-to date Debian and latest version of the git repo. I've even tried different cables and with and without dock in between.

@dos@social.librem.one @janvlug@mastodon.social Knowing the state the lsusb should show is valuable. From there on, flashing did indeed work. But it probably would not work from a VM because the USB redirect stops then the device identification changes during the script run.
This has cost me hours today.

@dos@social.librem.one @janvlug@mastodon.social I've already done that a million time. Or should it be done with the battery in? And should the usb cable go in before or after? and start the script before or after? I've done already many permutations of these options.

@dos@social.librem.one @janvlug@mastodon.social It does not want to turn off at all when the battery is in. It makes some hardware sound (short vibrate), turns on the green led for three seconds, then green led off for one second and repeat with short vibrate and green led, ad infinitum.

@janvlug@mastodon.social The crimson version of pureos with the experimental setting to suspend after 1 minute of inactivity drained the battery overnight anyway.
The developers of these systems are not honest in communicating what works and what doesn't. The PureOS store is a disgrace and yet it's one of the core components. Improving it is probably quite simple. But I'm not falling for the typical 1) it's FOSS, fix it yourself or 2) it's true freedom, be happy.
