Just spent the last several days eliminating nearly 400 lint issues that clippy found in my rust project. Then built several tests that help me catch several of the bugs I found during the process and now have a CI step that denies on linting issues so that I have motivation to not let these get so bad. Holy moly tho, #clippy with pedantic, nursery, and perf lints all on sure finds a LOT of issues. #rust development sure is crazy fun though!

@edfloreshz@hachyderm.io I actually just figured it out! Thanks for the offer though! I believe I wasn't setting up the LD_LIBRARY_PATH correctly. But just complain about things on the internet and boom, you'll figure it out or some kind and thoughtful stranger will help. Haha

@timaeus @nextcloud @pop_os_official did you just update? It's actually the main reason that I haven't been using it.

@laund@wetdry.world however I did just find hayro. https://github.com/LaurenzV/hayro Which I guess is a pure rust PDF renderer, might check it out.

I've been using literally the worst time ever trying to package my #rust #libcosmic app on #flatpak. There are tons of examples and things, but I had to go and make things harder by depending on #mupdf-rs which are rust bindings to #mupdf which is a C library for rendering PDFs. I can't get #mupdf-rs to build to save my life. 🙎♂️

@carlrichell@fosstodon.org that is awesome news! I know it isn't a clear answer, but thank you for moving the ball forward in this battle. Anywhere our voice can be heard we need to be loud enough.

@ahoneybun@hachyderm.io I like it! On a side note, what do you think of the cosmic text editor?

@ahoneybun@hachyderm.io Cool! Love the look of cosmic apps. I'm booting into alpha 5 today after my update finishes.

@snaggen@mastodonsweden.se @servo@floss.social @system76@fosstodon.org this is awesome! I've been curious about doing this for a long time! I've been building an app that I want to embed reveal.js presentations into, mind if I try it to see how it plays out?

@musicmatze@social.linux.pizza just gonna put this out there, and you don't have to even care one bit, but iced is really quite nice. I have been using system76's fork called libcosmic, been a great experience.
