with Github getting worse and worse, I made a contribution to the #indieweb by adding Codeberg as an authentication provider for IndieLogin.com! :neofox_floof_mug:
if you're not familiar, it lets you log in to other websites with your domain name as your identity, by leveraging GitHub OAuth, email, and PGP keys linked to on your website
I've been forming an idea in my head about sharing the blogs you subscribe to and links to interesting webpages, and after reading this blog post I learned both have already been done :o
they're called blogrolls and link blogs respectively, and I'm excited to add them to my own blog! the author also shared a very comprehensive list of independent search engines that focus on the small web
haha anyone else have this problem?
a friend of mine gave me the idea for this post

a bit of a response to Kett's blog post How Minecraft fails to captivate me, specifically
I added GitLab as an authentication provider for IndieLogin.com today, but I don't think most devs here would be interested in that lol
@megabyteghost@masto.hackers.town go for it! and you should definitely get back into blogging :neocat_evil_3c:
there's this post I've been meaning to write called There Is Value in Retransmitting Knowledge, where tl;dr it doesn't matter if someone has already wrote about something, you should blog about it anyways and reinforce that good information
you can highlight what you think is important, and you get to include your specific experience; perhaps there was a unique challenge you overcame, and that can be invaluable to someone else who ends up coming across the same problem (which I certainly have!)
hopefully my little spiel motivated you further :3c
@megabyteghost@masto.hackers.town awww thank you! ![]()
the idea came when I was writing my first blog post, talking about how writing is a window to the personal self, that it's more than just a vessel for knowledge. your life experiences come through the writing style, your choice of topics shows what matters to you
and a blog is that little slice of the internet that's yours, so I thought it was appropriate to end it with a signature >w<
