@GayDeceiver Renegade Cut did a masterful video on this, the Left Behind series, and how all of that infected US politics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRxN1DXmSdA

@_elena@mastodon.social Not that I approve of bsky's design choices, their decision to make blocks public is very crypto-coded. Unsurprising since the designers are basically a bunch of coiners. But also I'd like to remind everyone that all of your posts, reposts, and likes on social media that are anti-ICE or anti-Trump are also very public. So like, be aware of your threat models, certainly. But let's also be realistic and not worry about the pennies when many of us are visibly carrying many pounds.

@davetroy@toad.social As suspect as I am of bsky's investment funding, as I am their crypto leaning board and CEO, the reason it is currently flourishing and will likely continue to do so is they have a Trust & Safety team actively protecting users and frequently rolling out robust features designed to do the same. That's why Dorsey jumped ship, he believes in "freeze peach" similarly to Musk. Its T&S is clearly superior to xhitter or Meta, but Mastodon lags behind them as well.

@antimundo@mastodon.gamedev.place "Trust & Safety" is an industry-wide term that refers to practices of moderation to protect users, and practices to deal with inappropriate or illegal material on user-content platforms. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trust_and_safety I'd also like more elaboration on the role and how T&S will be addressed and expanded because it is a vital thing which has been extremely neglected in the fedi.

@Quenby@cutie.city Hear this with retail workers all the time. My sister dealt with this when working for Victoria Secret. They were made to clock out at the "end" of their shift at closing, but their manager made them stay beyond that time for store cleanup.

@Mastodon@mastodon.social So, aside from the Head of T&S, how many other people are working on moderation tools, education, and advisement in Mastodon? What are the responsibilities of this Head position, since they will obviously be very different than someone in the same position with the responsibilities of a centralized network?

@cmconseils@mastodon.social I couldn't even tell if you were wrong, this one is tough to verify or falsify because there were like, 5 different "original" versions of Tetris. Did they mean the PC version? Between NA and EU there were two different distributors who each made their own version, not counting the original Russian freeware version. The "original" Nintendo version? There are three of those. One Nintendo made for the NES console, one for the GameBoy, and an unlicensed NES version made by Atari that had to be recalled over a rights dispute. Did *any one* of those releases have a manual that gave names to the blocks? I don't know! Maybe?! 😂

@gamingonlinux@mastodon.social My toxic gamer trait is aside from the small-ish buttons I think the original is a great controller, the lack of a right stick doesn't matter at all when you have a trackpad AND gyro to compensate, and the people who complain about it never had to learn how to use a new controller when they got a new console. If the people who moved from NES/SNES to N64 or PS1 had the attitude that people took with the original controller we never would've transitioned to 3D. No one would've ever tried to use the thumbsticks. It's a very different way of controlling a game! You have to use your brain differently than you did playing 2D games!
