@sven really great talk, I think this has something for everyone from the beginner to someone who’s been following Asahi from the beginning. Perfect amount of background material while keeping a compelling focus on your new work.

@fasterthanlime@hachyderm.io ahh sorry, ‘tis the curse of mastodon! The combination of my server & client didn’t show anybody else asking about that. It makes sense, though I think you still have to enter an admin password before anything truly dangerous can run, even with SIP off. I have had it off on my main Mac for development purposes in the past, knowing that some security mitigations are reduced, and haven’t had qualms about it.

@nedbat@hachyderm.io @guenther@chaos.social the one you linked has been updated to some extent, though it’s true a lot of the core concepts are pretty old. That being said, it has a lot of stuff that wasn’t covered in my (class of 2021) undergrad CS education. Which maybe says a bit more about the state of CS education than it does about the article.
