As the son of a diesel fitter dad and a Co-op shop assistant mum living in Battersea I was offered a scholarship to Dulwich College. Can't fault the education but really didn't feel like I fitted in. But I still didn't make hissing noises at Jewish kids.

@MAJ1@beige.party So far so good… I'm assuming when our roofers start in a couple of weeks that we'll all be able to fill our water butts to overflowing and reservoir levels will be going up faster than the price of petrol. I used to be a pretty good DIYer but my confidence seems to be declining as my age is increasing, so we tend to get someone in these days. Mostly though, it's the upheaval and disruption to my routine that's so stressful. At least this evening Beth, Matty and I could snuggle on the sofa, eat cheesecake and watch weird murderous creatures manipulating young girls. @openrisk I can run LineageOS and download #CoMaps from f-droid. But if I want to link it to my car screen, I have to use Android Auto and I have to have downloaded CoMaps from the Play Store. First world problem, but they do try really hard to lock you in to their shitty ecosystem. @ironicbadger

Ours is scheduled for two days, with a contingency day added on the end, just in case. Then I just have to haul myself up the loft ladder to get down things we haven't seen for five years. Maybe we should just chuck it if we haven't needed it in all that time, and save on the storage... Have a tremendous Monday.

Our shingle has been artfully planted with clods of moss from the roof, courtesy of Ronnie and Reggie the jackdaws, but the wild flower seed we scattered is beginning to brighten the beds, and we've planted some more coreopsis because they're bright, cheerful and seem to thrive here.
