The gap between "good enough for me" and "good enough to publish" is so big it's amazing any open source projects exist at all.

Leadership loves to solve problems with meetings and process, because it's something tangible you can write down and point to, but it usually results in the "now you have two problems" trope. Unfortunately, the real solution is usually muddier and hard to pull off: a systemic culture shift around trust, communication, collaboration, and ownership. Easier said than done.

A law gets passed that says if you are using cookies in a shitty way, you have to get consent. Instead of making their cookie usage less shitty, everyone decided to continue being shitty and just make them more annoying instead.
