@marcoarment@mastodon.social @stroughtonsmith@mastodon.social How many times have we seen this from Apple? I started in the eighties and have seen four or maybe five overhauls, with another four or five false starts (OpenDoc? Pink?). The truth is Apple doesn’t know how to do it, in large part because nobody does. They ship, then the industry as a whole gets smarter, your framework becomes dated, and the team moves on to greener pastures. Lather, rinse, repeat.

@tychotithonus@infosec.exchange I’ve been quite happy keeping passkeys etc. on Yubikeys (plural!). I know that that way they cannot be accessed remotely (you have to have a PIN and touch it for it to work), and with more than one yubikey I don’t have a single point of failure. But I was never comfortable using a password manager or other software for passkeys; it seemed to defeat the purpose.

@itsfoss@mastodon.social @mkwadee@mastodon.org.uk sure, but most people want pretty much none of those things as much as they want to get their stuff done.

@marcoarment It was a trial product that the market clearly didn’t want. I’m sure that several years on they could produce a better one, but indicators told them not to. 🤷‍♂️ I don’t regret not buying one, much the same way I don’t regret buying the first iPhone, (or the first Mac).

@NetNewsWire@indieweb.social done. Got an error on the first cleanup attempt and subsequent refresh (feedback filed). Tried again and it worked (feedback also filed). Thanks again for the fantastic product.

@Teri_Kanefield@mastodon.social Thanks for the primer. It’s uncomfortable to examine the collision/collusion of liberal democracy and racism in the US, but it’s important framing to understand what’s happening. Well done.

@alyssam_infosec@infosec.exchange Loved the photos. Those little airports really are a gem. We always try to find them on our cross country flights.

@stalwartlabs I wish there was better JMAP client support. I’ve been keeping an eye on Stalwart; it’ll probably succeed my current Dovecot/Postfix setup.

@owa@mastodon.social because it’s a solution that nobody actually wants, and nobody wants to build a solution to a problem that nobody has.

@brucelawson@social.vivaldi.net @owa@mastodon.social So what’s your reason why don’t they make browsers for iOS in the EU, where they’re available, per the OP?
