@Thayer@mastodon.social Wow, these numbers are OFF THE CHART for UK academia. They're outside any union-agreed salary scale. For comparison, an associate professor here is in the £70k range. I'm genuinely shocked. I'm not sure how this is even possible?

Extremely cool stuff coming from the team here: a performance-focused, compile-time type checked alternative to htslib. #nerdcore #bioinformatics #ngs

@command_tab@hachyderm.io 💯 it took me a while, but nowadays I consider objectiveC the most "elegant" language I've ever coded in. Its readability was just unrivalled, and the code tended to have a structure that facilitated understanding the flow.

@mitchellh@hachyderm.io @isaiah@mastodon.social super Interesting - how could that ever work, though? I don't think the Agents are fully deterministic, and you don't have control over the underlying models either, so the prompt history would only be an approximation of but not a guaranteed record of history, no?

@metabolist@mastodon.social Metatext is amazing, but I know how exhausting it can be to maintain an app like this. Take care of yourself first. Let's hope someone can step up and take over 💪
