@tychotithonus@infosec.exchange I think you and I would argue that a comma is more appropriate, the author is trying to suggest that the Supreme Court’s change is unexpected enough that the sentence is changing in an unexpected way, too.

The em dash is used in several ways. … It can also show an abrupt change in thought (or an interruption in speech) or be used where a full stop (period) is too strong and a comma is too weak, similar to that of a semicolon.

@Cass_m @Neblib That’s pretty nice. I have a low-end Ryobi, a small yard, and I consistently go through half the battery if I’m mowing every other week, and 25-33% if I’m mowing once a week. I don’t mind plugging the battery in each time, especially bc I’m not going to store a battery in my basement, but several mows on a charge could be nice.

I can’t wait to be done with the drudgery tasks (v helpful to others so I’m not complaining!) that hit me at work so I can go back to implementing a message queue/notification system in my business PWA app that’s nearing deployment. Most of it has been front end development, and now I’m finally back writing server code.
Prill got neutered last week. After a very sore and tender afternoon, and two days of increasing recovery, she’s back to 100%, and we’re trying to keep her from running around too much. Five cone days down, five to go!
