I have as much joy reviewing a claude-generated code (through PR) than I have debating with my washing machine.

This option (default "no") controls whether the ~C escape is available. Turning it off by default means we will soon be able to use a stricter default pledge(2) in the client. feedback d...

@robpumphrey@mastodonapp.uk I can't say how much I wish we could do the same anywhere else than the UK. This issue is so bad.

@arj@social.tchncs.de You suggested to me deku (for implementing a protocol for a device) a couple months back. Finally got to make that implementation. This has been a fantastic suggestion, thank you!

@4censord @th I assumed some of that weight was on the metal box. Probably overbuilt because this is to be (ab)used on job sites.

@cstross@wandering.shop @arstechnica@mastodon.social wait on top of that, you also need a difference of temperature to run the turbines.

@cstross@wandering.shop @arstechnica@mastodon.social without cooling, it’s not an if. It’s not even a when, we know when this is going to happen (immediately). Reactor currently sit at 50% of thermal efficiency, unless we have a place to dump that energy, this is not going to cut it. Thermal radiation is nowhere near efficient enough. And unless you plan on melting rocks, this isn’t going to work either. (Just to be clear, I’m a proponent of nuclear energy, but this seems like a bad idea, here) At that point, just send ICBMs directly, just as efficient.

Refactoring an hardware driver is fun. It's like playing "find the 7 differences" only with hex dumps.

@CodingThunder@mastodon.social @major@social.lol This is more a systemd mechanism than GDM.

https://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/latest/environment.d.html#

This is read by the systemd user daemon (something ala /lib/systemd/systemd --user (exact path will depend on the distro)). The environment is then injected in every unit that systemd will launch.

I don't actually know how GDM works, I don't use it, but it is likely launching sway via a systemd unit (systemctl list-units --all --user should tell).

To note: the other mechanism available to inject environment variables in a session is pam_env, hook that should be plugged in your /etc/pam.d/login`. It will then read /etc/environment.
