apropos of anything, my recent attitude to "block on first sight" has done wonders for my mental health when consuming most sites these days

"its value has migrated"??
the value is the physical PERPETUAL nature of the book that is immutable except for, oh, say damaging and destroying it
what these companies do is change the control of previously immutable properties, into their absolute control to do...who knows what
Quoting
From the website of the company that’s destroying books to feed them into the ravenous AI maw.
“A physical book is a delivery mechanism for information. Once that information has been extracted and encoded into an AI model, the delivery mechanism has served its purpose. What remains is paper, ink, and binding material. The book is not destroyed. Its value has migrated. The paper returns to the material cycle; the knowledge enters the intellectual one.” https://www.news.com.au/technology/online/internet/ai-labs-buy-scan-shred-millions-of-rare-books/news-story/0c3b45a67093ab462a587a0348538ce9

It's the 14th today and it's your annual reminder that this day is consumerist nonsense and full of unnecessary social obligation and should be eliminated forever

@ldottxt@kind.social the weird smells are the wide hour range, which the top end is very close to FT, then the salary range with no specific mention about it being for a PT role.
I'd assume that was FT salary, part time on paper but in practice probably closer to the 35hrs. You'd know more about the salary expectations but i would assume theyre *inferring* PT total comp, but the reality would be different.
