@taylorlorenz@mastodon.social No single person can break Mastodon, the way Elon was able to break Twitter. No change can be made by fiat, everything requires community buy in.
@taylorlorenz@mastodon.social Youtube works for Google, X works for Musk, Facebook works for Zuckerberg. But Mastodon works for us. No one else's interests or desires come before ours.
@molly0xfff The ironic thing is that if it weren't for her own honesty, SBF probably would have just bought a pardon like the other crypto criminals. But she really believes he's innocent, she's not the kind of person who would pay a bribe, and she seems to be running the show.
@SteveBellovin@rootwyrm@fsinn Wouldn't the need for waivers give the government a huge amount of leverage over ISPs? If you don't cut off people we don't like, we'll withhold your wavier, etc.
@SteveBellovin@rootwyrm@fsinn This seems important to me. We can't prove that CBS News moved in a different direction because it helped the Ellisons get their acquisitions approved, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
