Dora Richter (the one on the left) was the first #transgender woman to undergo vaginoplasty back in 1931. Yes in 1931, after she started her transition in 1920s. She survived the murders of her friends, coworkers and book burnings, when nazis destroyed her place of work Institut für Sexualwissenschaft. Like today, back then #nazis attacked, ostracised trans and #queer people. That’s why it is important more than ever to celebrate the International Transgender Day of Visibility. #NoToFascism

We should also remember the inaction, impotence of the international community in preventing the atrocities that happend and the fact that the city is inside Republika Srpska today. The best remembrance would be politicians having Srebrenica in mind while thinking about responses to other conflicts and using minorities as scapegoats.
