My current employer is imposing sexist clothing rules as a reaction to me wearing gender non-conforming clothes so now I am looking for potential new employers in the Netherlands or remote.

I am interested in and have broad experience with reproducible software and infrastructure, free/libre open source software, functional programming, security and privacy. I am familiar with many different technologies and can pick up new things quickly. I care about social justice and the environment, so I am not interested in working with fintech or genAI.

Went to an #ILoveFS book reading of Ada & Zangemann (https://fsfe.org/activities/ada-zangemann/), which I think overall is a nice story that explains why software freedom is important and big tech is bad. What I like is that the main character is a brown girl who becomes a hacker, which would be good for representation. However, what I do not like at all is that the main character is portrayed as very poor and apart from her family no one else in the story is, which negates the representation by reinforcing racist stereotypes and this makes it tokenism. @fsfe@mastodon.social please do better.
