"I Hear the Sunspot - Volume 1"
⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had this manga on my Amazon wishlist; I was waiting until after the summer to buy it. Luckily, I didn’t. By pure chance, I saw the first three volumes in a local library...

"I Hear the Sunspot"
Such a coincidence! I added this manga to my Amazon wishlist a few days ago.
Let us see if it's any good.

"Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad"
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This anime is a masterpiece. The art style is unique, the story is shonen-like with small bits of drama, bits of romance (just a tiny bit), and you wish they did more seasons...

I'm adding a bunch of series to "currently watching" as I have been slowing down. Summer period, I have fewer things to do and more time to catch up with my list.
Manga haul from the local library (1/2)
Attack on Titan volumes 4 and 5 for this specially thick 500-page edition.
#SmokingBehindTheSupermarketWithYou 1x4
I was discussing with @moleSG@urusai.social that it didn't look to me like they had much of an age gap. This episode and the smartphone scenes proved me wrong.
Oh well.
Does this mean Yamada and Sasaki never get together?

"My New Boss Is Goofy"
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The fakest BL you’ll ever watch. Two colleagues (senior vs junior) who start working together daily end up living together. It’s all a healthy and friendly relationship

"The Cat and the Dragon [dropped]"
⭐️ ⭐️
I started this anime thinking it would be, well, about a dragon main character living or growing up with cats. I wasn’t wrong, for an episode...
I don't remember overthinking this much back in high school.
It was hell, sure, but it was a bit simpler than this.
Yota had the perfect opportunity at the park to confess his romantic feelings. We were not this lucky.
#KillBlue 1x5
The red light district scene was funny.
That Unicorn character is very, very annoying.
I hope they woop his ass.
Nakamura has very bad luck, but somehow got a happy ending.
Their relationship is not moving an inch. Will it?
They had such a moment in the park, only for Yota to tell her she's in love with her best friend.
This sucks.
The scene was the perfect moment for a hug, a kiss. Yet, as some of you already mentioned in past episodes, Yota has zero romantic interest in Koyun.
#GoGoLoserRanger 1x2
This anime is way deeper than one might think. This shit is serious; this is not some goofy Power Rangers story.
This episode was good. Twists, brutal and sad at the same time.
#GoGoLoserRanger 1x1
"Sentai Daishikkaku"
Something different, never been a fan of this type of story. But this one feels different, unique. It has piqued my interest.

Living together, and working together. Now that's fantasy. How can you even handle seeing the same person all day, every day, and not develop any romantic feelings?
Fake 😂
Bastards, they baited us with the episode title, but we're far from our main character living together.
I'm not even sure any romantic steps will be taken; I think it's just a healthy work relationship. They even talked about girlfriends in this episode, even though a new character said he's bisexual.
Was I wrong to assume this was BL?
Oh no! Then it wasn't Hirose's hand!? Please, no!
Here I was thinking the ship was moving forward. Why can't we have nice things?
#GoGoLoserRanger 1x4
The Rangers are absolutely rotten. Let's go, team monsters! We need to purge these Rangers from existence.
#KillBlue 1x6
I sort of expected more on how he would win the match.
I wanted the smug-faced, tall dude to suffer a bit more.
Nothing goes his way, poor Nakamura.
Continues to be funny, but at the same time, it's painful to see him struggle this much. It's a love hate situation.
Also, the new dude is on another level of creepy.
Servamp - Volume 4
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had forgotten how much content is in these volumes. It's a shonen, but unlike Naruto, which is mostly action panels, there's a lot of reading here.
#GoGoLoserRanger 1x3
Disappointed in the direction this is going.
The main character, should he still be alive, is just too weak and gullible with the blond woman. Or is he actually gone? That would be a bold story decision.
Maybe they made the strength difference too wide?
For a moment, a brief moment, I imagined his brother not being goofy.
I was wrong. The goofiness comes in the genes.
Very chill episode, I was in Akita last month during my #Japan2026 trip.
These people! They're teasing us. Now Miki sees the ship as we do.
It's an indication that this is not what's going to happen. Please, let Koyun be happy and eventually date Yota. They are just perfect. They enjoy each other's company, they laugh, it's all healthy.
Manga author, please. I beg you! :blobcat_sadlife:
@scribbbleanime@mastodon.social yeah, just coworkers. That's it. They happen to live together and become friends.
You know how japanese are, the younger one always calls him "Manager" wherever the setting. They could be having dinner at home and will call him "Manager" 😂
It's a fun comedy. If you want something that doesn't require too much attention or focus.
@scribbbleanime@mastodon.social very cool! First time I'm hearing about these 2 series.
Have you written anything about them on your blog?
@moleSG@urusai.social the new dude plays in a different league. Like call the police, he's a real stalker.
Big brother would have been a good twist.
@BongoMcnulty@mstdn.social Can't ship anyone but Yota and Koyun :blobcat_sadlife:
#MyNewBossIsGoofy 1x10
It seems the show has reached its ceiling; now it's just more of the same episode. Situations in which the Manager does goofy things. The story doesn't really move, nor do the characters evolve in any way.
Shame, really. I would have loved to see a deeper story. I'll finish the 2 episodes I have left, but I don't expect any big twists.
"Atarashii Joushi wa Do Tennen"
Instant ship of this duo 😏
I got a bit worried at the very beginning about the main character's anxiety from his toxic workplace, but I think this will soon be over, and we'll get into their dynamic and forget about the past.
Will continue watching 👍

"Buddy Daddies"
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I expected this series to be just pure comedy, 12 episodes with just fun scenes of 2 dads overprotecting a little energetic girl. I was quite wrong…
@myska@mastodon.online @scribbbleanime@mastodon.social how about:
Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions
https://anime.ricard.blog/reviews/ron-kamonohashi-forbidden-deductions-season-1/
@navi@hey.pomnavi.net Minato is due to grow a little.
Would it be too easy to say Minato and Koyun will get romantically involved?
There are no other characters.
Or is this anime not that kind of story and Koyun really rejects all things romantic?
Ok, we got a bit more flashback toxic moments than I care for, but overall it was very funny.
I caught myself laughing out loud in the lost child scene when he gives his name. I identify with Momose saying "manageeeer!".
