Maybe you’ve heard of Prima Donna methods, those ending with ! but which do not raise, or there’s no bangless version.

We need a name for the opposite. Methods like Date.parse that raise with no indication of their danger.

People complaining about emdashes and the “not x it’s y” pattern being ruined by AI. Add on saying something is “worth”, like “this is worth flagging” or “worth being clear about”. AI says this ALL the time and I instinctively recoil now whenever I see it.

Came back to Zed after a bit and now can’t authenticate with Copilot for edit suggestions? Keeps saying an error occurred, and I should reinstall, but the error persists. @zed Am I doing something wrong?

Seems a lot of productivity software these days uses .so domain names. I can only see this as meaning “shared object”. What is the relationship to productivity apps? Are they just intending it to mean “software”? What about .app?

True Vivaldi. First thing I tried was to make Kagi my default search engine. Although it appeared in the list, I couldn’t select it. 🤷 Not sure what all the fuss is about another Chromium repack.

This is why I don’t like high fidelity pixel perfect mock ups. When there’s so much detail, you don’t know what’s intended and what’s incidental. Also what component libraries are so important. The designer can freely use wireframes knowing the dev will pick the right component.

Out of all the apps I’ve used, the ones from @tapbots@tapbots.social have the best gesture for stopping away photos after tapping on them. No other app compares.

Is there a term yet for when Anthropic/Open AI copy your company’s product and roll it into their chatbot? Seems to be happening more and more.

LaTeX is such a weird tool. Package managers? Nah. Just bundle every package ever released into a massive tarball and distribute that. Which packages are in there? Shrug 🤷

Is there a pi plugin that adds compat with Claude Code plugins? We have a bunch at work that I want to be able to use, but I also want a harness that will let me switch models, AND one that lets me login with Anthropic Enterprise.
