is there still people doing anti-psychiatry, mad pride, or psychiatric abolition on here? where did they all go after the Campaign for Psychiatric Abolition folded up?
Abolisyonista
I read stuff on ultraleft communism, anarchy, ecology, police+prison abolition. Aspie, he\they. Scribe.
Librarian at The Anarchist Library and the Southeast Asian Anarchist Library. Archivist for Philippine socialism and the Tagalog section at the Marxists Internet Archive.
Build militancy not membership. For the self-abolition of the proletariat and the anti-prole prole club. The revolution will be proletarian by those who make it and anti-proletarian in its content.
Situationship International, abante barbero!
What's frustrating about HOW TO BLOW UP A PIPELINE is that Malm is a “serious Marxist” yet his prescription for violence is directed towards petition & reform precisely because he too cannot imagine the end of capitalism in the urgent timeframe of the climate crisis.
All this Mexica and Aztec slander on the TL makes me love them more actually. The patron deity of rulership is a trickster god of chaos? Addressing the king as “my lord, my executioner, my enemy” goes incredibly hard, actually.
I kinda get why anti-civ especifismo is a thing in Indonesia and screw it, let's do anti-civ especifismo.
I suspect apolitical abstention is the more depressed sibling of the apolicity imposed by voting. Voting is a false image of power and agency and even that abject Spectacle fails to appeal to the apolitical abstentee. What then does that tell us about political life?
Like, instead of blaming people for not voting for 99% Hitler, why don't you spend a bajillion pesos into making 15% Hitler winnable? Why is it always the apolitical abstentee's fault and not the liberal opposition?
The black scare is global. We have our own Praireland at home, the 9-21 detainees and defendants. They got their own Praireland at Indonesia. The black scare is global.
Opportunists of empire and of the left flock to each and every insurrectionary wave, seeking to coopt and demobilize it. Cowards tell us to act for ourselves while denigrating our every action for self-activity.
So what if there were US monies in the country? At the Nepal insurrections last year, I converted the monies Grayzone claimed into pesos and it's just a price of a house loan. Laughable. Revolutions aren't cheap.
Have these gentlemen seen a revolution? Organized a protest? How hard it is to mobilize people? That sometimes camps like Duterte and Marcos need paid protestors? Do you know how much paid protestors need and compare it to the monies claimed to have been used?
Paid protestors, real ones like those tools at the senate during the debacle with Bato, are just there for the paycheck. The police know that, that's why they don't do shit. The violence of anarchic rage can't be paid for. It can be co-opted, but that's different.
The natural state of the proletariat is apolicity. Our dependency on normalcy renders us as apolitical. The role of the paid protestors is the channeling of apolicity towards affirming normalcy. Mass political and antipolitical actions simply cannot be paid for.
Do you know how miserable it is to be at a protest? How much we need rituals, friends, and comrades out there to be there? to make it fun and brave? Do you expect us to believe you can replace all that with cold hard cash and expect paid protestors to actually be there?
The streets suck actually and protests are only awesome because we're awesome. You cannot replace solidarity with patronage and cash. Imperialism can never and will never buy solidarity.
EVEN IF imperialists fund false-conscious class militancy, this still increases the morale of the class writ large. This is still a moment of decisive intervention by pro-revolutionaries. And our false friends would have us abandon the field of class struggle to opportunists?
U gotta understand Aetas contribute virtually nothing for the economy but Pax Silica will in terms of jobs and infrastructure. Instead of making ideology for why Aetas and Indigenous peoples are important for the economy, it is simpler to be the enemy of economy.
Neither reformism nor armed reformism can resolve what happened today—a month's worth of flooding in a week. Until we answer why was it the most organized sections of the PH left could not escalate a climate-anti-corruption insurrection last September, we march in place.
Free Palestine has revitalized the American left, yet it remains impotent to stop the genocide in Gaza. Historically, the American left couldn't stop the invasions of the Philippines, Hawaii, Vietnam, Iraq, or Afghanistan either.
Mark Twain and Emma Goldman worked on antiïmperialism for the Philippines. They had as much effect as the left on Vietnam and Iraq—NOTHING. The greatest thing the left did was when anarchist Leon Czolgosz murdered that white devil McKinley—and what did that do for the Philippines? Nothing again. There are memorials in the Philippines to McKinley and none to Leon Czolgosz.
Activist jingles like MARCOS MARCOS MAGNANAKAW can trace their roots to an ode to John Brown, abolitionist and and the greatest adventurist of all time who sparked the US civil war through a failed insurrection that accelerated the crisis. Its a song sung to liberate and conquer.
JOHN BROWN'S BODY
Today is July 4, marking the day the Philippines got its independence from the United States of America. Because the song JOHN BROWN'S BODY was too radical, its lyrics were changed to valorize the USA as BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC. https://youtu.be/sfuLrny00t4
While still a song sung against slavery (“While Christ died to make men holy, let us die to make men free”), it was this same song that soldiers would sing as they conquered the Philippines as they pillaged, murdered, tortured and raped.
Mark Twain wrote a lampoon update to protest the conquest of the Philippines, particularly the brutal conquest of Mindanao. (“Mine eyes have seen the orgy of the coming of the sword”)
The song BATTLE HYMN was taught as a church song by preachers to Filipinos. Likely this is how the tune reached public conscious.
https://youtu.be/nPAxL8GhsYY?t=406
Presumably the song was in the Philippines for a while and popular enough to be used as a jingle. For example BOYKOTIN ANG HALANAN and GLORIA GLORIA LABANDERA
https://youtu.be/nPAxL8GhsYY?t=611
(GLORIA GLORIA LABANDERA has a dual meaning, first referring to the former president's corruption and accused money laundering, and also misogynistic classism similar to how “villain” used to mean the lowest and most wretched peasant caste.)
So while John Brown's body does lie a mouldering in his grave, his soul do be marching on even in the Philippines, even as his memorial was recuperated as a song of conquest, it was detourned back by working people.
READ THIS IF OUR TASK IS DAUNTING AND OVERWHELMING
Notes for this started back in September, then I gave an impromptu talk on it in KL,MY, based on reflections from the insurrections in Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines.

tis has been a long time coming. salamat po sa mga taga-CrimethInc. for putting this out. we are amidst a counterrevolutionary period dominated by a black scare—the mechanisms of which we must understand. the party of anarchy will cohere again, regardless of our preparation.

I may be having an existential crisis over finding out there is an African country I never knew existed, Cabo Verde. I feel like this is some kind of Mandela effect Bernstein bears kind of thing. I've been looking at maps since I was a baby, how could I miss this.
I love POM POKO. Such an underrated Studio Ghibli film. Its ecological themes felt stronger than PRINCESS MONONOKE. Also, it's basically “what if we made eco-extremism the anime and then marketed it to children.”
Ideologization by anarchists and Marxists take the exact same form: a valorization of peripherality and pragmatism. Peripheries as big as the USSR or PRC to tiny enclaves like Catalonia, Rojava or the Zapatistas, or even the peripheries of everyday life—the same form of ideology.
So last year was a lot. I wrote about it.

Things like the “dictatorship of the proletariat,” “communism,” “anarchy,” or “the revolution” isn't like capitalism with the alienation of our agency. Communism will not liberate women independently from our own self-activity.
The moment one thinks of the DotP as an awesome apparatus that would implement their great programs through graduations of departments, organs, secretaries, and branches of government, they have already betrayed themselves as bourgeois revolutionaries and not communists.
The DotP isn't a state nor is its power state power; it is an antistate in how its power is constituted on the basis of the abolition (and not reconstitution) of class society. Its character of coordination, organization, and coercion, flows from that constitution.
Hence how anarchy and communism abolishes patriarchy, racism, caste, colonialism, borders, government, etc flows from the constitution of self-abolition. The DotP is us necessarily abolishing ourselves as men, women, workers, colonized, racialized, disabled, etc.
The DotP will be “dictatorial” only in the sense that we—as workers, women, colonized, etc.—would suppress and resist any and all reimpositions of the normalcy that marks us as proletaianized, gendered, colonized, etc. beings. The reimposition of things like wage-labor is a clear mark by which the DotP has collapsed into normalcy.
There won't be a guarantor of rights or its enforcement, there won't be petitioning of representatives or government, precisely because these are only necessary under the regime of domination perfected under the capitalist mode of production. There will only be us and our tasks.
from CIA weaponizing aswang myths to terrorize peasants & communists in the philippines, to an actual masonic deep state in Italy (see propaganda due/p2), real af. but like, cia funding insurrections in nepal, indonesia, mendiola... get out of here.
Appalled that the New Yorker really ran “why are babies being mistreated and not cared for in the ICE extermination camps?”
There's nothing shocking about callousness. Mamser, this is a genocide, not a daycare. Stop calling this incompetence.
Filipinos in our own country should stop expecting competence or blaming incompetence too and wake the fuck up.
Viand is a Filipinism and a natural part of Philippine English, just like blockmate, inutil, or barbeque. Just because its pretentious and purple in other English dialects doesn't mean it is in PH English. Be proud of your language, kahit sa PH English, decolonization yun.
An insult to us: “Ruiners of the Earth!”—hell yeah! Aside from the obvious fact that we are instead seeking to rescue the Earth, I have long identified with Alan Moore's passage in PROMETHEA where we must welcome and herald the end of the world of bankers, states, wars.
See the way the state can conjure buses to undermine transport strikes is similar to scabbing is easysauce critique. Once we question why transpo strikes can't be indefinite bc of a threat of a shift to a permanent scabbing state-funded public transportation (among other reasons), we see how the isolation and peripheralization of strikes under normalcy inherently has these material and ideological limits, of reaffirming ourselves as specific kinds of workers. We can't forget, of course, the elevator worker's strike in New York, which was defeated by a regime of permanent scabbing via the automatic elevator. Similarly, the implementation of a state-subsidized waged-worked transport sector to replace semi-proletarian jeepney drivers is a real risk here as a way of permanently undermining Manibela and Piston.
a note on terrorism: individual terrorism, like self-directed subsistence struggles, are inevitable features of class struggle that emerge spontaneously regardless of pro-revolutionary intervention.
the tragedy of political theory is—as i see it—is precisely the key link between politics and anti-politics. anarchy and communism precisely needs anti-political rupture, insurrection, and social revolution. but how are we to “build” or rather forement mass anti-politics with political forms?
Tarot reading last night: Ruin, disillusion, rebirth, choice, hope.
Today: Mayo Uno ended at 10am at FEU. March too weak to overcome the barricade, saw marching in place and pragmatic pacifism. Insurrectionary energy of September was not sustained.
Akbayan/NDs are like, NDs/Akbayan does right-opportunism? That pales in comparison to our tactical right-opportunism, which achieves gains, and then not achieve anything.
Can both camps stop doing right-opportunism? I swear, if both camps do right-opportunism for the third presidential election in a row...
Yeah so, here's the latest version of the schisms and lineages map of the Philippine left. aware kami na mashadong maayos at malinis yung 60s at 70s because there were a way lotta more splits then before groups coalesced into the CPP and rivals.

Of the Six Great Heads of Marxism, (Anim na Dakilang Ulo ng Marxismo), three are white men 😡🤬😡 (Lassalle, Kautsky, Bernstein), but three are POC 😇😇😇 (Mussolini, Deng, Duterte).
People on twitter will really be like “you believe in firebombing the police? that pales in effectiveness to my strategy—organizing” and then not do organizing.
instead of, you know, ragebaiting and starting pointless definitional arguments on twitter.
i get what they're trying to say. they're not saying it well.
i hadn't realized i've been reading jasper bernes for years already. looking at his bibliography, i remember enjoying some of these essays. the heatwave essay was excellent, yes. haven't read planning and anarchy, will read. i found dauve important for anti-work and self-abolition.
it's actually evening at utc+8, so i'll take this as a good evening! ☺️☺️☺️
Opening a new front on Sabahposting by arguing Basilan should be given back to France.
i don't care for your identity politics mehn. i'm not a marxist so i literally don't care.
Quite fascinating reconstruction of the discourses and narratives between right-socal-democracy, left-socia-democracy (what would later become bolshevism and 3I communism) and anarchism. Wreak havoc on Lassallean-Kautskyists.
