Installed #yunohost yesterday on my Proxmox home server to fiddle around and was about to deploy #GoToSocial. But this "Danger" Box in the docs, saying the domain will be taken forever by this instance of GTS scares me. Or is this the case for every #ActivityPub Server anyway?
I thought, only the full handle like "@user@social.domain.net" can be problematic when being refused because of caching and generated keys. Any experience with that? https://docs.gotosocial.org/en/v0.22.0/getting_started/

Enshittification ist offenbar nicht nur ein Phänomen bei Onlinediensten, sondern auch bei eigentlich guten Ideen wie der EU.
Der Wahlspruch lautet "In Vielfalt geeint", Teile des Parlaments sind aber scheinbar eher "In Einfalt geeint". Vielleicht lässt sich das Ruder ja doch noch irgendwie rumreißen. Hoffentlich!

Das Betriebssystem meiner Wahl ist ja @GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social, deren Ansatz ich besser finde, aber man verfolgt ja den Markt. Gut, dass @calyxos@fosstodon.org wieder zurück ist. Vielleicht probiere ich es mal auf meinem alten Pixel 7 aus.

Da mein Pixel 9 Pro in der Reparatur ist, bin ich jetzt wieder mit dem 7er unterwegs für einige Tage. Fühlt sich aber gar nicht wie ein Downgrade an. Aktuelles Android und gute Performance für alles was ich damit mache. Ich bilde mir aber ein, den Unterschied zwischen 90 und 120 Hz zu "fühlen".
Gerade durch ein Feature, dass ich bei der Arbeit umgesetzt habe gelernt, dass es eine Postleitzahl 00000 gibt. Als Notlösung, weil der Forstgutsbezirk Reinhardswald bei der Reform 1993 übersehen wurde 🤦♂️
Wie gut, dass ich mein Pixel 7 noch als Zweitsmartphone habe. Das Pixel 9 Pro geht in die Reparatur bei Google. Wegen Staub oder sonstigem Fremdkörper auf dem Sensor oder unter der Linse oder unter dem Glas. Wie sowas passiert, erschließt sich mir bei einem IP68 zertifizierten Gerät irgendwie nicht.

Gestern habe ich diese Folge gehört. Grandiose Idee!
Ich würde das Konzept aber erweitern zur optionalen WeMachine für einen Haushalt bzw. eine Gruppe, (erweiterte) Familie, etc. Ein Admin richtet das ein und betreut es, die anderen genießen. So teilt man sich auch die Kosten. Setzt natürlich Vertrauen voraus, auch bezüglich Moderation. Ich habe einen Homeserver und darüber auch schon nachgedacht.

Wie man so von einem zum anderen kommt, wenn man erst tief ins Fediverse hineintaucht: Jetzt überlege ich, meine eigene Instanz zu hosten (Zusätzlich zu dem Account hier). Stellt sich nur die Frage, was man so nimmt: GoToSocial, Pleroma, Akkoma, Misskey und wie sie alle heißen ...
Die Inspiration dazu kam von @_elena@mastodon.social's Blog die ich eigentlich erst so richtig wegen ihrer Artikel über die Machenschaften von W Social kennengelernt habe. Kurios! 😄
When you decide whether or not to follow a photographer: Does it put you off if the feed shows multiple genres? Like in my case it is landscape, street and some architecture. Would you rather follow someone with the one genre you are interested in?
