Sometimes I will talk to someone and realise their understanding of the world is so detached from reality I don’t even know what to say and my brain just shuts down
I regret buying the David Pogue Apple book; it was good in the beginning, up to the first iPhone, but as soon as he ran out of other Apple history books to rip off, it devolved into a scatterbrained collection of bullet points and idiotic takes.
Takeaway from 24 hours of Linux on the desktop:
It has come a long way since I used it last (KDE 4)
AI agents makes it a lot more tolerable that 1% of the time where some dumb issue still crops up. I just told claude "mDNS isn't working, figure out why" left to make a cup of coffee, came back and I could see my network share!

Today, while working on my VPN app, I found out that macOS doesn't support ActivityKit. It can show live activities from your iPhone or from iOS apps running on Mac, but not from native Mac apps. Apple, why are you like this?
