@Doomed_Daniel@mastodon.gamedev.place @ireneista@adhd.irenes.space @r@glauca.space Firefox is still lumbering toward full enablement of JPEG XL as far as I know; they landed a Rust-written decoder to replace the C++ reference decoder, and I think they're making sure it gets to feature parity before they'll push it and close the tracking bug

@ireneista@adhd.irenes.space @rysiek@mstdn.social oh, I just wrote a less certain reply to that effect—good to know that is actually the case 😅

@endrift@social.treehouse.systems slightly tempted to count my Steam Deck as a tablet :p
nah, other than that, the only "large touchscreen with computer attached" we have is a PineTab that lives in a drawer doing nothing... oh, there's a long-disused Nexus 7 on the table here that we found again recently, for 2012's idea of what a tablet is

@chimera_linux I guess cross-compiling is too fickle to depend on for a whole repo? (Void's aarch64 repo comes to mind...)
also a bit surprised that the RISC-V builds were emulated on x86_64 and not another RISC, but I presume the performance differential of the hardware is substantial...

@chimera_linux wish I had remembered to test limine before we got rid of our Socket AM2+ pre-UEFI board >_<

@gforce917@floofy.tech virtually every road car that lacks a clutch control will do that, as far as I know. (actually I have no direct experience* with more esoteric setups like DCTs, but like. most drivers (in NA at least) are used to ICE automatics, and automakers design around that.)
I drove the 2020s spaceship-lookin Prius once and I'm pretty sure it had creep. both BEVs I've driven did as well. I do recall, more than a decade ago, seeing a photo of a Tesla Model S settings page that had an option to disable creep; I dunno if they still have that, or if any other BEVs have that kind of option.
even if it bugs you, do you understand how slushboxes produce that effect, at least?
- the DCTs in BeamNG.drive don't have creep, but—while the game's simulations are getting ever more sophisticated—I have no clue if this is generally true of real DCTs
